While Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba has been busy performing with his new bandmates in Blink-182, there has been much speculation as to when the next Alkaline Trio shows would take place.

In July, Matt Skiba spoke with The Daily Record about the prospect of making the band’s ninth studio album and doing a tour. “I’ll be writing for a new Alkaline Trio record while on this summer tour so once things with Blink cool down a bit, the Trio can go in and make a new record and start touring again while Blink is on break.”

Well, it looks like Alkaline Trio is right on schedule. Chicago’s much adored rock band has just shared the news that they will play three hometown shows at the Metro on January 18th, 19th, and 20th.

Earlier this week, Alk3 bassist and vocalist Dan Andriano confirmed that he will support Matt Pryor of The Get Up Kids on his upcoming tour this winter.
