Blink 182 have been teasing their new album for months now, even taking to their Instagram account to present clips of the album art. Well, tonight we finally got to experience new music from the pop-punk pioneers, whose Tom DeLonge-less lineup now consists of Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker, and Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba.

Blink 182’s new single “Bored To Death” is the first studio track the band has released since Skiba took over for DeLonge on vocals and guitar. “In a very short amount of time, I feel very part of the Blink family”, Matt Skiba shared with California’s popular radio station KROQ yesterday. “It’s a really exciting time for all of us” Mark Hoppus added. “I think this new album is really going back to our routes and pushing in new directions, and I think people are going to be happy to hear it.”

In a few hours, Mark, Matt, and Travis will join Kevin & Bean on KROQ to talk about “Bored To Death” and drop news about Blink 182’s new album California, which comes out July 1st, AKA the 182nd day of the year (thanks Leap Day). Other album titles the band considered before landing on California were “Nude Erection”, “No Future”, and our personal favorite, “OBGYN Kenobi”*.

The trio plans on debuting more new music and revealing information about the Blink 182 summer tour with A Day To Remember, All American Rejects, All Time Low, and DJ Spider on the program at 7AM PT/10AM ET time.

If you’re in LA, you can tune into the broadcast on 106.7 FM. Otherwise you can stream the audio on or watch live via the station’s Facebook page. We will of course be posting updates as they come in.
