If you’re a fan of The Descendents, the California band that’s been spewing punk rock anthems and putting on dynamite performances since the late 1970s, then it must be cool to be you. This year the band has announced its comeback, the release of a new album called Hypercaffium Spazzinate, and a North American tour with an impressive array of bands from the punk and emo genres.

Yesterday the Descendents took us by complete surprise when they dropped the news that Beach Slang would open their Massachusetts show on October 6th at the Royale Nightclub. Today even more unexpected openers were announced for their fall tour. In addition to playing both Riot Fests and Picnic in Pozo, the Descendents will perform eleven more dates across the country with the following bands:

Modern Baseball will play San Francisco and Los Angeles, Beach Slang will greet us in Boston, Fucked Up will play New York, Philadelphia, and Silver Spring, Maryland, while Bully will close out the last leg of the tour with two dates in Seattle and one in Portland.

The band’s new album Hypercaffium Spazzinate drops through Epitaph Records on July 29th. This will be the first new Descendents record since 2004’s Cool To Be You. Earlier this month, the band released their powerhouse first single,  “Victim of Me”.
