This just in. No Doubt ska-pop queen Gwen Stefani has finally gone public about the release date of her long awaited album, This Is What The Truth Feels Like. As you may remember, her album release was originally planned for 2015 before being delayed due to Gwen’s disconnect with tracks like “Baby Don’t Lie” and “Spark The Fire”. Scrapping the old material was possibly the best decision the iconic singer/songwriter could have made, considering her best work tends to be a result of her deeply personal and heartfelt lyrics (See: “Don’t Speak”). From the looks of it, This Is What The Truth Feels Like will be a concept album about her broken marriage, and one that reads more like a diary than a promo ad.

During Gwen Stefani’s October performance at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, her second show in eight years, she spoke about where her head’s been at these days:

“Hi. Okay, this is the situation. I sort of, I just really want to get, I just want to tell you some stuff, okay? One thing that I’m just so grateful for besides a lot of things— one specific thing that has to do with you, is like, when you write music about your life, purely real life stuff and you share it with people that you don’t know, it seems like you wouldn’t have an affect on you, but for some reason it has a really deep, beautiful, mmhm, supporting, loving affect on me. And it’s very strange. I think some of you might sort of be experiencing that now that you have like, I’m just saying you have Instagram and followers and some people that you don’t know and ‘Oh my god, I have a like’, and so it kind of feels like that except I’m actually talking about pain and love and my real life. So I just want to say thank you for listening.”

This Is What The Truth Feels Like will drop on Friday, March 18th. This will be the first full-length Gwen has released as a solo artist since she put out The Sweet Escape a decade ago. The live music video premiere of her second single, “Make Me Like You” will air live during the 58 Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony on February 15th, 2016.
