Amon Amarth has been bringing viking metal and powerhouse guitar solos from Sweden to the states since the early 90s. The death rockers headlined the Jomsviking North American Tour last week with support from Entombed A.D. and Exmortus. The band filled the House of Blues in Boston with tracks like “The Pursuit of the Vikings” and “War of the Gods” and closed out the night with an encore, which included “Raise Your Horns”, “Guardians of Asgaard”, and “Twilight of the Thunder God”. At one point, the energy in the room was so prominent that one bold fan even crowdsurfed across the raucous audience in his wheelchair. Now that’s punk rock.
