Thrice and PUP put on quite a show on Thursday, June 15th at the College Street Music Hall in New Haven, a venue with a far classier feel than some of the spaces both bands have frequented in the past. Following a set by The So So Glos, PUP— who have been gaining speed in the punk scene since their 2013 formation— took the stage. As always, the band played a stellar set composed of a mix of songs from their self-titled album, as well as their sophomore release, 2016’s The Dream Is Over.

Meanwhile, Thrice’s performance showcased just why they’ve been so influential in the post-hardcore movement for nearly two decades. The band had fans engaged from the first guitar strums of their opener “Hurricane”, the latest single off their comeback album. Thrice played a number of songs like “The Artist and the Ambulance”and “The Earth will Shake” before closing out the show with a “Beggars” and “The Long Defeat”.
