Who could forget Hep Alien, the fictional rock band on Gilmore Girls, a beloved dramedy chock-full of pop culture references with the oh so fitting motto: “Life’s short, talk fast”?

Hep Alien is an anagram for show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino’s best friend Helen Pai. The band was fronted by Lane Kim, Rory Gilmore’s on-screen best friend, and the band’s guitarist was played by Sebastian Bach of Skid Row*.  Hep Alien took the small town of Stars Hollow by storm, covering everything from The Monkees’ “I’m A Believer” to Rancid’s “Time Bomb” through season seven of the Gilmore Girls when the show unexpectedly went off the air.

With a Gilmore Girls: Seasons reboot in the works, the question of whether or not Hep Alien would reunite began to linger. In 2015, most of the Gilmore Girls cast reunited at the ATX Television Festival, including Hep Alien, who played a surprise set at the San Jose Hotel in Austin. Fans of the show were thrilled with the band’s reunion, but there was just one caveat: Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach was nowhere to be found.

Great news came this weekend, when Instagram photos of the fully reunited Hep Alien surfaced online. The photos showed Sebastian Bach and the remainder of the reformed band on set at Warner Bros. Studios in Hollywood.

An exact date for Gilmore Girls: Seasons hasn’t been set yet, but the highly anticipated limited series is expected to run on Netflix. In addition to leading stars Alexis Bledel (Rory) and Lauren Graham (Lorelai), all three of Rory’s love interests, Jared Padalecki (Dean), Milo Ventimiglia (Jess) and Matt Czurchry (Logan) are slated to return for the show’s reboot. Scott Patterson (Luke), Yanic Truesdale (Michel), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Sean Gunn (Kirk), Liza Weil (Paris), and Hep Alien founder, Keiko Agena (Lane) will return to the series. Missing from the Gilmore Girls reboot will be the recently deceased Edward Hermann (Richard Gilmore) and unconfirmed from the show is Melissa McCarthy (Sookie St. James), whose acting career sky-rocketed following her stint on the family program.
