Last night indie rock artists Vampire Weekend felt the Bern in Washington Square Park, where they performed at a rally hosted by presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders. The band was joined by The Dirty Projectors and what felt like every college-aged human in New York City with any kind of opinion on Wall Street. “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa,” “Unbelievers,” “Rise Above,” and “A-Punk” were among the songs played by Vampire Weekend at the politically charged event.

Vampire Weekend has been enthusiastically spreading their support for Bernie since well before their Washington Square performance. In fact, frontman Ezra Koeing regularly takes to social media to encourage his fans to show love for Bernie. In March he referred to the presidential hopeful as a once in a lifetime candidate and back in January, Bernie Sanders joined Vampire Weekend for a performance of “This Land is Your Land” ahead of the Iowa caucus, which saw a promising 84% of voters under 30 standing behind Bernie.
