When Taking Back Sunday released “Error: Operator” off Louder Now in 2005, they repeatedly told their listeners that they can’t go back. Now, with their new single, the beloved rock ‘n roll band has affirmed that they can’t look back, either.

Earlier this week, Taking Back Sunday unveiled a new track and music video called “You Can’t Look Back” off their forthcoming record Tidal Wave. If you’ve ever wanted to see frontman Adam Lazzara bleeding from head to toe then you need to watch this video.

“So, the original concept we were given on paper was just about the party around the bonfire” says Taking Back Sunday vocalist and lead guitarist John Nolan in reference to the music video. “We said ‘yeah, we like that one, but something fucked up needs to happen at the end.’ At one point we were talking about having actual guts coming out but we didn’t want to be that overt,” he adds. “We are also planning to continue this storyline, so stay tuned…”

Tidal Wave will be out on September 16th through Hopeless Records. Taking Back Sunday has already released their eponymous first single “Tidal Wave” earlier this year.
